Today, I climbed over a rock on the blue trail at Graham Hills the same way I and many of us have for years. And as always I expected there to be a another rock transitioning you off. Instead, I was greeted by a hole, which I stuffed my wheel into and endo'd. Some genius had moved the rock to smooth out a Mary line on the side, not considering that it might change another line other riders use

Here it is, IF YOU MOVE AN EXISTING TRAIL FEATURE, YOU'RE AN INCONSIDERATE IDIOT.

Riders expect a trail to appear and ride as it has before. Changes made by Mother Nature are part of the business and we have no choice but to deal with them on the fly and fix them when we can. BUT CHANGES MADE BY PEOPLE WITHOUT CONSIDERATION OF OTHER RIDERS, PARTICULARLY TO MAKE A TRAIL SUIT THEIR RIDING CAPABILITY IS INEXCUSABLE. YOU DON'T OWN THE TRAIL, YOU SHARE IT WITH THE REST OF US. HANDS OFF THE FUC#ING TRAIL!

If you feel differently about this, please speak up. And if you've changed a trail feature lately we'd love to hear about it and discuss it.

Have you seen the new "trail work" at Sprain? Someone decided to create a straight line right down and through the biggest climb there.

I was there Saturday. Are you referring to "slickrock climb? I noticed that but it looked to me like the result water runoff?

That sucks Even. Hope you weren't hurt. Had a similar experience in the Fall. Someone closed a little roller in favor of a Mary line by using some large branches. Thing is, you couldn't see the branches until you crested the roller so I had to bail as I was rolling it and I hit the ground hard. There are so many self-centered idiots out there these days it is disheartening.

I'm not sure of the trails name, but I'm fairly certain we're talking about the same climb. Early on it did look like leaf build up from water runoff but the further up we went, the more obvious it become that it was intentional. The line was an even 2' wide, clear down to the dirt, not a stick, rock or otherwise was to be found. We spent awhile covering it back with leaves, branches, rocks, etc.

If we all approve, maybe we should approach DD and talk about getting some of these actually approved for hanging and printed up officially.

And after this afternoon/evening's EMS, Fire Depth. evac from Graham Hills, I think it is critical that we number the trail intersections to agree with the map that the EMS guys had on them.

Tim, what is the most expedient way to put numbered blazes on a tree at intersections? I'm willing to run with this project, just need guidance. I'll call you this weekend.

Saw the mess the quads made on the Blue trail this morning. Good to hear (I guess) it wasn't just some jackass ripping the place up.
What happened that EMS was there? Hope all is ok.

Just got a request from the emergency responce folks to clear a route through the Park wide enough so that their new 6X6 vehicle can get to someone injured.
We may need some help with this. I will let you know.
