Ride the New Trail at Sterling Forest

Thanks to the big trail work crew we had last Saturday we punched through and connected the two parking lots. There now is a 3.5 mile out and back trail that would total 7 miles.

I rode it yesterday and it is fun! Not like anything else you have ridden. Start at the trailhead off Long Meadow Rd just north and adjacent to the mulch pile.

Ride down the fire road past the lake then look for a right turn into the single track. At the next fork go right then follow the fresh trail, look for where the trail leave the fire roads onto single track. When you get to the South Gate Parking lot turn around and head back.

Definitely on my list to check out. Thanks for the efforts of all involved.

My buddy lives within riding distance to the new trails at Sterling. Yesterday we rode the bottom section of Redback Loop up to the highest point. We rode a little further along the top ridge but didn't see your newest section Mike. Coming down the top of Redback was so much fun I had to climb it and come back down a second time!

Good stuff - I'll be back

Once you reach the highest point starting from the South Gate parking lot, you continue north on an existing forest road for awhile then look left for the next single track section, this will be mostly downhill to the mulch pile parking lot off Long Meadow Rd.

It will be marked with blazes soon and easier to follow so you might have to do some detective work to figure it out before then.
