Started last year with the approval of the Westchester Parks Association, and the help of the New York NICA racers and coaches, the Westchester Mountain Bike Association is happy to present the first of two new trails in the south end of Sprain Ridge Park. "Charcoal" starts at the bottom of the old moto downhill, and replaces the fall line trail that started at the bottom of the fire road and climbed up to the REI rock. It has a couple of technical spots but can be enjoyed by beginners as well. Come out at give it a go. https://www.strava.com/activities/1173468057

Work will begin on the second trail back down toward the North end with the help of our NY NICA racers in the next couple of weeks.

Speaking of "charcoal" when's the meet and greet barbecue?

Thanks Bean for mentoring the next generation of trail gnomes.

The Meet and Greet is October 8th. I will be posting later. I have some flyers to put on cars and pass out to people.

Torque, could use your help for 30-40 minutes at Sprain to finish that trail off. 2 big things down my handsaw and't handle. 2 others I'm too shot to attempt, but smaller.

Someone was pissed that we closed off the fall line trail that the new trail replaces. They moved all the stuff blocking it and didn't like my sign.

I had to waste 30 minutes blocking it back up again. Could have used that time to begin trail #2.

Sad but not unexpected. It's amazing how many blocks are being torn out now. It's rampant along the coast in New England.
